Well Shelley Prior was here yesterday doing another wonderful watercolor, I second guessed myself after having chosen this project which was the Forest Path and when only 5 signed up I thought oh well does not appeal to everyone. Well was I surprised when we were doing the painting how different it really was. We used a wood sponge to apply most of the foliage which really was nice and moved the painting along very quickly. It is amazing how techniques used in ceramics many years ago and in faux finishing are also used in watercolor. This just goes to show that it is important to take classes because you learn something new each time, even though already known in another media. Everyone did such a wonderful job, thank you so much to those who came.
Don't forget that I have Kathy Macauley booked to teach the tulips in Colored Pencil on the 24th she is also an amazing teacher and even more amazing artist, this project will involve various techniques again using colored pencil, and pen. If you have not taken a class with Kathy you don't know what you are missing.
This is my first blog, hopefully of many, so far so good this winter with no snow but there is some on the way tonight. Painting is a major love of mine as is teaching, I have some wonderful guest teachers coming to the studio and I hope you don't miss out on the classes being offered as the space is limited. When the studio was in the planning stages 5 years ago, wow it has already been that long I thought it was very big, but once everything gets in there not so much. It is though a very bright and cheerful place to paint and meet old and new friends alike.
I am in the planning stages for more classes and teachers, also working on my Avon business. I have been selling Avon for 30 years now and still love the products and all the wonderful people I have met through Avon. It is a great business to be in, as there is always something for everyone and at such great price points.
If you would like to start your own business talk to me and I will tell you more about it.
